General house survey being carried out by BESCOM and BBMP, first meter readers of BESCOM generate UHID and paste it to individual houses/ flats, next someone from BBMP will come for house survey. This is being carried out by govt of Karnataka

Backward classes commission, tf do they have to do with house listing and your property. I'd say just let it be there or if you aren't liking it there replace it to elsewhere. But make sure you don't throw it. 

These mf goons would go to any extent to ruin your day or week. Just be safe and make sure you speak kannada or you have someone who is in good government authority. 

P.S - this is not the way surveys should be conducted, it leads to inaccurate or incorrect data when Obv they don't interview you, which leads to unreliable conclusion of whatever tf they're trying to do.

They pasted  it at our house today. We got 4 such stickers. I googled it and checked, it is related to some caste survey that the Govt of Karnataka is planning. They geotag a house using an App &amp; the App generates the Unique ID of the house. I’m wondering too, what the caste survey has to do with the Backward Class Commission.

This is caste survey being conducted in Bangalore. Some one from govt. department would have visited and placed this sticker.

The way this is being conducted, looks like its just cover up, they don't talk to any one in the house and just mark what they want in their sheet and go.

And govt. says they have completed caste sensus successfully and bring up policy favouring their vote banks.

Don't remove it, it identifies that your house is already covered and they will not bother you again.

1. Quality of education degraded (less number still teaching job)
2. Population decrease (get less numbers and govt doctor job)
3. More Bribes/Corruption (IYKYK, like some people never saw money and suddenly they see miney kinda things)
4. Quality of services (Engineers/Doctors) Because deserving candidates or more eligible  candidates which doesn’t come under reservation won’t get seats in medical college or engineering college or other fields.

People conveniently forget that the 2015 caste survey (SECC) data was never officially released, not because it was “perfect,” but because multiple communities (including dominant ones) objected to how it was conducted. If the report itself was incomplete, disputed, and politically unusable, then redoing it isn’t “burning taxpayers’ money,” it’s literally the only way to get a credible, accepted database. Otherwise, the same folks crying about “fake inflated numbers” would be the first to scream that govt is hiding caste realities.

Second, the ₹420cr figure is being framed as waste when in reality a caste census is a once-in-a-generation exercise that directly determines reservations, welfare targeting, and policy allocation. We’re talking about data that affects crores of people for decades. Compare that to the thousands of crores blown annually on vanity projects, ad campaigns, or freebies to corporates, suddenly ₹420cr for evidence-based policymaking doesn’t sound so outrageous. If we’re going to debate reservations, at least base it on fresh, reliable numbers instead of a decade-old disputed survey.

The central government hasn't conducted a census in 2021 (it has been due for 5 years) , no one questions them, but we have to blame the state government for what they do.


We don't have data about population, education, gender ratio, access to toilets, etc. All of this is the central government's duty. We haven't had a census since 2011, a lot of us here were in school, college, etc, things have changed but no data is available.

The 2015 census was 10 years ago, demographics have changed since then, the population of Bengaluru has exploded, don't we need new data.


If you want to question reservations, you are free to do so, but data gathering is always helpful.
